TracFone Wireless has been aggressively supporting federal laws that allow for the criminal prosecution of traffickers. Over the last several years, wireless providers have filed 129 lawsuits against 362 defendants, resulting in judgments totaling nearly $500 million. Suits have been filed all across the country, in 19 federal judicial districts in 15 different states. Additional lawsuits are still ongoing, and more are being filed every month.

Wireless providers have pursued targets in nearly every state in the country, but their anti-trafficking efforts don’t stop at the border. Investigations and lawsuits have been launched against traffickers in more than 20 foreign countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Mexico, and Honduras.

Over the past several years, TracFone has mounted an ad campaign to stop cell phone trafficking. This section highlights some of the many successes, including arrests and court decisions, that show the risks of engaging in trafficking.
